Airport Transfer
Flughafentransfer
We are happy to help you with the travel arrangements from the city of your arrival.
Chemnitz is based in the East part of Germany and it is well served with public transport links, including trains, coaches and the main motorway system.
The nearest international airports are in Dresden, Leipzig, Berlin and Prague.
We provide transfers from airports or stations by minibus or, for larger groups, by coach.
Board and lodging
Unterkunft und Verpflegung
Students usually stay in shared flats at our guesthouse. The flats have two or three rooms, bathroom and kitchen. The rooms can be used as single, twin, triple or quadruple bedrooms.
Single or double rooms in shared apartments with bathroom and kitchen are available for accompanying teachers and trainers.
- Wi-fi access,
- Sheets, linen and towels are always provided,
- Washing machines and dryers are available.
Please note: Our guesthouse is not a hotel, there is only a limited room service. In order to guarantee cleanliness and silence we request the inhabitants to follow the House Rules.
From our guesthouse you have easy access to our training centres and public transport.
The canteen at our training centre offers full board.
If you wish, we can also arrange accommodation in hotels, B&Bs or youth hostels. We have excellent relationships with a range of local hotels of various categories.
The Hotels and B&Bs provide a room and breakfast, (Hotels also halfboard or fullboard). It does not include other meals or laundry, which need to be paid separately.
Local Transport
Nahverkehr
We provide local transport for all activities (company visits, cultural and leisure activities) organised by us.
We recommend to provide each member of your group with a local transport pass, which will gives your student unlimited travel on local public transport in the city and allow students to move freely and independently.
Internships/work placements
It is not always possible for us to organise internships in the immediate vicinity of your accommodation.
Students need to expect to travel between 15 and 45 minutes by local transport from their accommodation to their internship company.
In this case we strongly recommend the weekly or monthly tickets for Chemnitz public transport.
Language Courses
Sprachkurse
We offer courses for groups, specialist courses and school visits throughout the year.
Learn German in Germany
Learning German in Germany is perhaps the best way to learn German as quickly as possible. A visit to Germany gives you the opportunity to do so.
- Gain more self-confidence in using the language,
- learn more about Germany,
- make new friends.
Internships/work placements
Speaking German isn’t needed for most internships we offer but obviously it’s a big plus for your communication skills.
Company visits / plant tours
Betriebsbesichtigungen / Werksbesichtigungen
If you wish, we organise for your students visits to companys and organisations in addition to the practical training.
Visiting a company gives your students a practical perspective on the world of work.
The company visits (plant tours) offer your students practical knowledge and learning experiences that are essential for better understanding of work processes.
Free Time Activities
Freizeit-Aktivitäten
As integral part of our programmes, we offer a broad range of cultural visits and excursions
At the beginning of your stay there is a guided city tour, to show you the most important places of Chemnitz.
On weekends we offer a day trip to a city in the region around Chemnitz, for example to Dresden, Leipzig, Freiberg or Zwickau. After a guided tour you will have time to explore the city on your own.
We also offer hiking tours, for example a hike along the Saxon Switzerland National Park with the magnificent landscape of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains.
There are many interesting museums in Saxony, for example:
- the Industrial Museum and the Archaeological Museum in Chemnitz,
- the Old and New Masters Picture Gallery in Dresden,
- the Historical Green Vault (one of the richest treasure chambers in Europe) in Dresden,
- the Museum of Applied Arts or the Ethnological Museum in Leipzig.

Organisation
We organise, monitor and evaluate the trainings and work placements and we are always in close contact with the students and their teachers/supervisors.
One of our tutors is a fixed contact person for the trainees/interns, takes care of them during the entire training/internship period and also carries out the supervisory visits at the placement companies.
At the end of your stay we will hold a debriefing and feedback session.
